Circles
Not all network connections are equal. Just as with your friends and work colleagues, there are some – a few – who are closer to you, while others – the majority – are less so. We prioritize our relationships – we have to – so that we can invest in those that offer us the most in return. And the same is true when networking.
To make prioritizing network relationships easier, you can try creating networking circles, to which you assign your connections according to their value to you and your network. For this we have tailored a list of possible reasons for you to connect with Showwcase members.
Core Concept
Inner Circle
At Showwcase we define inner circle as someone you have a direct connection with or had such in the past. Maybe you worked together or are currently studying at the university. Inner circle connections are important to your network and you should establish a routine to contact them regularly. If they are having a problem or need advice, you should be willing to spend some time and effort to help them. As stated, this is your primary (reliable) resource pool, so you should get into the habit of referring connections (or those outside your network) to these inner connections whenever possible.
Outer Circle
A connection that people from your inner circle have but not the one that you share. Even though you don't share a direct connection their actions on Showwcase influence - to a lesser extent - content which is served to you.
Connections
Every connection requires an approval from both parties. Whoever initiates the process approves it by default. Once invitation has been sent it can be either accepted, declined or cancelled.
